Premier League ace could make Leeds United return

Kalvin Phillips could reportedly be on his way back to Leeds United after a failed spell at Manchester City.

The England midfielder left Leeds United to join Premier League champions Manchester City in 2022 in a deal worth a reported £45 million.

Despite the hype around Phillips at the time, he failed to find his feet under new manager Pep Guardiola with minutes coming few and far between.

With neither party happy with the situation, Phillips was sent out on loan to West Ham until the end of the season, a move which has yet to work out.

But the 28-year-old could look to reignite his footballing career back at Leeds United with GiveMeSport reporting that he may be an option for his old side in the summer window.

It is fair to say that he no longer has a future at City and with them keen to offload the midfielder in the summer, Daniel Farke’s side could be a fantastic destination if they do achieve promotion this season.

Leeds are currently at the top of the Championship after their 2-0 win against Millwall, although Leicester City do still hold a game in hand due to their FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

Although the move may not come in time to help Phillips break back into the England set-up for the European Championships, it seems like a great option regardless.

  1. Sorry. Kalvin was instrumental under Bielsa in getting us promoted. But now that ship has sailed and we have bought in better players as replacements. Thanks Kalv…but no thanks. You wouldn’t want to move to a club where you would be doing a Citaaay and warming the bench again surely?

  2. Sorry mate,,, we loved you,, we respected what you achieved,,what you did for us under Bielsa…for which we salute you…we do
However,,, the grass wasn’t greener was it ?
You didn’t want to play under Jesse [nobody did] but you still didn’t want to stay,, a bad choice which hasn’t worked out.
Now,,, you wouldn’t even make the team let alone the squad. We actually have better players (did I really say that) than you,, who want to play for us…and why should they give up their spot too ? Ampadu kamara gray all deserve that spot which was once yours…..not to mention gruev who doesn’t get the praise he deserves….you would actually be 6th choice !!..
    Thanks bit no thanks

  3. Have him back tomorrow. He’s better than what we have. He just needs a consistent run in the team

  4. Don’t need him he jumped ship, now that ship has sailed he wasn’t interested in getting Leeds back into to top flight so bye bye

  5. philips confidence and time spent on the bench at man city distroyed his playing (or lack of it) creativity and i dont think a return to leeds will benefit him or the club, the club as a settled team and lets see where they go onwards and upwards not backwards
