Arsenal cool down interest in Toney and Osimhen to target £43m striker

According to German outlet BILD, Arsenal are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush.

It is football’s worst kept secret that the Gunners are looking to sign a new striker as they feel getting a top player upfront could take them to the next level.

Arsenal are looking for a prolific attacker as Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have failed to match the numbers of other Premier League attackers.

Arsenal are desperate to sign a striker

Mikel Arteta’s team has been linked with numerous attackers in recent months. Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have been constantly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Sporting’s Victor Gyokeres has joined that conversation recently but his reported release clause of £85m is putting off the Gunners from making a move.

The Gunners are looking for a versatile forward who can play in a number of positions in the frontline. None of Toney or Osimhen provides that option to Arsenal.

According to BILD, via Sport Witness, the Premier League leaders have shown a desire to sign Marmoush, and they may take more serious action to do so this summer.

Omar Marmoush to Arsenal?

As per the report, Frankfurt could want only £43 million in order to let him go, making him a far less expensive alternative for the North London team looking to bolster their attack.

Marmoush “dreams” of playing in the Premier League, according to the German publication, if the Premier League club formally expresses interest, they may be able to sign him.

Arsenal face competition from Liverpool

BILD, however, claims that Liverpool are eager to get him and that Mohamed Salah, the striker’s fellow countryman, may have a significant influence on the player’s decision to choose his next club.

Thus, to close any possible deal for Arteta, his team will need to overcome fierce rivalry from the Merseyside club.

Marmoush has gained attention after impressive performances in the Bundesliga this year and Arteta will be hoping he replicates those performances if he signs him this summer.

  1. His passing is not good enough in the final third, and gives the ball away often. Basically not to Arsenal’s technical level and therefore will not fit. Santiago Gimenez can be brought for £55 million and would be perfect, but don’t rule out a surprise move for free agent Mbappe that can be arranged with the right sponsorship deal attached plus unique add-ons.
