After a couple of poor performances from West Ham recently, the East Londoners needed to make a statement against Freiburg in the Europa League, and thanks to Jarrod Bowen amongst others, they did just that.
The striker scored his side’s second goal of the night against the Germans, and noted after the match that “we needed a reaction and we got it.”
Losing the first leg in Germany coupled with a terrible showing against Burnley might’ve been the pre-cursor to being knocked out of Europe, but the Hammers needn’t have worried.
Lucas Paqueta, Aaron Cresswell and a Mo Kudus double completed the rout.
