Steidten working intensively to bring offensive manager at London Stadium

It’s going to be an interesting summer for West Ham United, particularly if rumours persist that sporting director, Tim Steidten, is pressing ahead with finding a replacement for David Moyes.

The Scot guided the Hammers to their third European quarter-final in a row on Thursday thanks to an epic 5-0 win over Freiburg (5-1 on agg), and if he were to go on and secure another European trophy, the club would find it hard to dispense with his services.

There’s also a belief that a contract had already been offered to the Scot but that he was mulling it over.

The 6-0 loss to Arsenal a few weeks ago and some poor performances since may have seen both Moyes and the club board take a rain check on contract talks, though as Football Insider report, there are a number of candidates that could be considered for the role if Moyes should go.

Indeed, the outlet note that former Chelsea man, Graham Potter, is considered ‘gettable’ by the East London outfit’s hierarchy.

Notwithstanding his time at the Blues, Potter made a name for himself playing a brilliant brand of football with Brighton and Hove Albion, before leaving for West London.

If the Hammers were intending to look elsewhere managerially, Potter is out of work and would therefore represent an attractive possibility.

  1. Imagine how good Westham would be with a world class manager . The likes of ‘Magic’ Mo Kudus , Paqueta and Bowen fully unleashed . This squad could compete with any team in the world .
