Chelsea loanee admits his future is uncertain

Chelsea loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi has opened on his time on loan with Bayer Leverkusen, as well as what the future may have in store for him back in London.

Hudson-Odoi, 22, joined the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan last summer. The winger is not set to return to Stamford Bridge until the end of the current campaign.

During his first six months at the BayArena the 22-year-old has experienced a relatively underwhelming spell, scoring just one goal in 20 appearances, across all competitions, so far.

And following his parent club’s insane spending which has seen new American billionaire owner Todd Boehly splash well over half a billion pounds (Transfermarkt), Hudson-Odoi’s future remains uncertain.

Admitting as much, the London-born wide-man, who spoke exclusively to Sky Sports, opened up on how things are going in Germany and also revealed how he has had limited contact with the Blues.

“I have not spoken to them much recently at all,” Hudson-Odoi said.

“I am not there so seeing all these players going, there is nothing I can say or do. At the end of the day, I am focused on the club here and trying to help as much as possible here. Whatever happens in the future, I do not know. All I can do is focus on what happens here.”

Prior to joining Bayer Leverkusen last year, Hudson-Odoi, who currently has 18 months left on his contract, featured in 126 matches, directly contributing to 38 goals along the way.
