Fabrizio Romano explains what is going on with Jadon Sancho at Man United

Posted by

Jadon Sancho has not had it easy since his move to Man United and the winger has not featured for the Red Devils since October last year with Fabrizio Romano explaining what is going on regarding the English star.

The 22-year-old was one of the game’s brightest stars at Borussia Dortmund but has failed to live up to those standards at Old Trafford, and it ultimately resulted in the player missing out on England’s 2022 World Cup squad.

This season under new Man United manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho has played 14 times – scoring three goals and assisting another.

With a contract at Old Trafford until 2026, the 22-year-old has a future at Man United and at present, he will not play until Ten Hag thinks he is 100% ready.

Speaking about what Ten Hag and his coaching staff are doing to encourage Sancho back to his best, Fabrizio Romano has explained what is happening behind the scenes at Man United.

“The priority for Manchester United is to have him back with the first team,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “I mean, in the game time when he will be 100 per cent ready, this is why he wasn’t available in the last few games.

“Even if he is back training with the squad, Erik Ten Hag and his coaching staff are working on and with Jadon Sancho, they want him to be 100 per cent ready on a mental point-of-view and a physical point-of-view, so the market is not a solution.

“As of now, they want to protect the player and to have Sancho for the second part of the season in very good condition.”

  1. Still not actually clear on what exactly is wrong with Sancho. It obviously isn’t just physical. If we can get him back and firing for the second half of the season it will be vital to any chance of success this season.

    1. Sancho is undoubtedly an amazing talent. ETH unlike many other managers would be tempted to keep playing him and the media then destroy the player. ETH has taken him out of the battle field to build him. This is what management is all about. Much was said about the way Ronaldo was treated. ETH kept saying Ronaldo Is important and part of the plans, never threw him under the bus. Now it emerges that Ronaldo expected red carpet treatment at every level at the club and his form with Al Nassar justifing why he was not playing regularly at UTd. ETH needs to be trusted as his judgement so far and application has been top drawer.

  2. feel he had things going on in his head and needed an arm around him, well done ETH for your good work, he will surely be awarded when Sancho is back firing on all cylinders and doing a Rashford

  3. Yes Erik ten Hag has proven excellent since assuming the managerial post and has done well with the talent at his disposal.
Though there is still work to be done to get the whole team to perform optimally, as he is not scared to drop players and to work on each player to achieve coordinated teamwork and achieve success.
He has also doing his utmost to involve Jadon Sancho to blend with his teammates to reach the heights of his prowess when he was at Borussia Dortmund.
Of course a lot of deadwood and those with expired “sell-by” dates will leave to have fighting-fit unit to achieve the success expected of a colossus like United.

  4. So you mean to tell me you get paid £350k a week and you still want to be loved before you can do your job…..wow!

  5. ETH so far the best manager in the premier league, he will make it perfectly at the club next season,
Well building clear relationship with the players and Sancho will be happy of his decision in the near future.
