Chelsea’s Thiago Silva has hinted that he could stay in football after retirement.

The Brazilian defender was brutally eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in the quarter-final stage at the hands of Croatia.

Despite coming into Friday afternoon’s matchup as the huge underdogs to reach the semi-finals, Luka Modric’s Croatia stunned the world by pulling off a monumental upset and beating the South Americans on penalties.

Although Neymar was reduced to tears at the game’s full-time whistle, Chelsea’s Silva had a more composed response to his country’s disappointment.

According to BeIN Sports, the veteran defender, when asked for his thoughts on his future, admitted he will never lift the prestigious World Cup, but did hint he could return to international duty in a different role – perhaps even in management.

  1. T silva will be a fantastic manager one day because he himself is brilliant and he did deserve to lift the world cup because he his so fantastic marvellous special player in everyday how he keeps himself fit a true example to the young players could through

  2. I believe that he is born to be a leader. He can, he is s team player. He can be a good manager. By the way, Brazil defeated today not because of the players but the manager, Tite, made a very big mistake. He should not replace the attacker, Richarlsen, by another attacker. It was good if that attacker substituted by Bruno , midfilder. That was a great mistake and because of that the midfield supermacy was goven to Modric. The manager did not keep the balance and that is why Brazil defeated. It is really very sad because Tiago worked very hard to overcome the challeng. He was great and i am sure that he knows that.

  3. T. Silva is a player who deserves the best in football. It’s so heart breaking that his country got eliminated via P.Ks. but I believe he would be a great football manager when his playing days are over and he switch to managerial career. And I am wishing him all my best in advance.
