John Terry replacements named for Champions League roster

Chelsea will be one key man short when they take on PSG in the Champions League this week after John Terry was ruled out. With such short notice, manager Guus Hiddink has already started scrambling to make roster adjustments ahead of the first leg of the knockout round. As a result, a pair of young backs with no first-team experience could be poised to make their debuts.

According to the Metro, Chelsea are bringing 20-year-old defender Matt Miazga and 18-year-old defender Jake Clarke-Salter on the trip to France and could give them their first minutes with the first-team during the match against the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Miazga was acquired from the New York Red Bulls during the January transfer window, securing his move for $5 million. The Polish-American defender was one of the best defenders in MLS last year and helped lead his club to the best record in the American league.

Clarke-Salter has been featured in pre-season and post-season tours and has been with the club since he was a member of the Under-9 side. He signed a new deal in November to keep him under contract through 2019.
