It seems that Chelsea’s fans aren’t the only ones a bit confused by the signing of New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga, as their players aren’t sure what to make of it either.

The 20-year-old USA international was unveiled by the Blues on Saturday afternoon in a shock move that nobody really saw coming.

And after the deal was done, Chelsea bled the news through to their social media channels, where one in particular got an interesting reaction from some of their own youth players.

Academy pair Josi Quintero and Kasey Palmer commented on the picture with a quizzical emoji and tagging teammate Jake Clarke-Salter, a young up and coming centre-back that has been with the club since the age of nine but it yet to make his first team bow.

It’s a potentially awkward situation, but judging by Chelsea’s track record with youth players all four of them are likely to end up at Vitesse Arnhem soon anyway.
