The Daily Star claim that Mourinho views the England international as a worthy replacement to Cech, but the move could hinge on whether Norwich seal Premier League promotion.

The Canaries are hoping to book themselves in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium after drawing 1-1 with Ipswich Town in the first-leg of the semi-final at the weekend.

If, however, they fail to return to England’s top flight, Ruddy will look to make a move to the Premier League champions; as he would rather be the Blues’ no.2 than spend another season playing in the Championship.

The Portuguese manager is an admirer of the 28-year-old having attempted to sign him in 2013 as the club’s back-up keeper.

Cech has been mooted with a transfer to Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal, but the 32-year-old has reportedly opened talks with Turkish outfit Besiktas.
